JD/MBA Michael Paranal selected to represent Penn in 2013 LawWithoutWalls competition.
LawWithoutWalls is a collaborative educational model that brings together a transdisciplinary group of students, professionals, and academics from around the world to engage on the burning issues facing the legal profession, collaboratively address legal and social challenges, and develop the skillsets needed to thrive in the new, global legal marketplace.
After a rigorous application process, students from all over the world are teamed up to identify and address a problem in legal education or practice.
This year, Michael Paranal, 3L has been chosen to represent the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Wharton School of Business. The Symposium kicked off at the IE Campus in Segovia, Spain. It will culminate with a year-end presentation at the University of Miami Law School this April where Michael Paranal will present his Projects of Worth to a multi-disciplinary panel of judges.
LawWithoutWalls is, among other things, an attempt to eliminate the barriers between faculty and students, business and law, professors and practitioners, education and practice – and to ultimately improve the legal profession in ways that have positive social impacts. It is an exciting and unique opportunity to collaborate across institutions, countries, and cultures and gain invaluable experience and insight into the world of law, business, and social responsibility. Above all else, LawWithoutWalls engages those with a stake in Law’s future and provides them with a powerful vehicle for innovation and change.
